5 Ways To Become A Better You
Are you unsatisfied with your life? Feel uninspired or more stressed out than usual? Sometimes it takes just one single step to bring you toward happiness. Try one (or all) of these five ways to start a journey to a better you.
Go On A Retreat
Sometimes simply taking time for ourselves in a new atmosphere allows us to reassess our lives. Retreats are a great way to embrace some of the wellness activities that you don’t usually have the time or energy for. It also connects you with experts and like minded individuals who can help you to guide yourself towards a new you. Our new affiliate, Healistiq, offers unique yoga, fitness and wellness getaways.
Do Something You Are Afraid Of
Maybe skydiving isn’t for all of us. Perhaps booking a retreat is scary enough. Regardless of your largest fears and greatest personal boundaries, find something that is out of your comfort zone. By attempting some of the things that we fear the most, we break down barriers revealing a stronger, more capable self than we ever could have expected.
Quit Your Job
Okay, this is an aggressive one. Don’t go marching into your office with a youtube worthy 'screw you and this job' announcement. Maybe leaving your job isn’t even a good idea for you. However, if your job is part of what is making you miserable, start to look at ways in which you can either change your position or start a secondary project to develop income until it is financially feasible to move on. Becoming an ‘I said fuck you to my boss’ You Tube star is not recommended. Nor is leaving a job when you have serious financial responsibilities.
Start A Course
Taking online or live courses that interest you is a great way to start to develop an understanding of a particular field before jumping in head first. Maybe the course is to offer you additional qualifications so that you can finally work your way up the corporate ladder. Maybe it is completely unrelated to your job and is a hobby you have been dying to try or a potential career change you have yet to embrace. Education is (nearly) always a good move towards a new journey in life.
Make New Friends
Sometimes the ones holding us back are those we love the most. It does not require replacing all of your best friends, but getting to know some new people might just compel you to do something you are afraid of, try a new hobby or wander away on an exotic retreat. Surround yourself with people who motivate you to be your best. This is usually a great mix of individuals you have met over the course of your life and can include amazing new people who you meet at a new course, on a retreat or at your weekly yoga class.
